Caring for older people
As we get older, we need special consideration. Certain things we take for granted can become a problem and rob us of independence. A fall for example can be devastating for a person's confidence. Even when any injuries have healed, someone who has fallen may be less willing to walk out on their own for example. This fear can lead to a more sedentary life which, in turn leads to weakness and decreased ability generally. In addition to decreased physical ability, low mood or depression can set in.
At Bounce Back we are keen to look after the elderly in our community (in conjunction with local GPs). For those that are house-bound we can provide a domicillary visit (in the local area only) with the aim to help encourage greater mobility. The assessment of balance and strength helps us to devise an appropriate exercise routine to improve these two vital systems and help a person walk around with more confidence and in safety.
