Stuck at a desk all day? 05/07/2010

Remember to check your posture a little and often when at your desk.  Despite best intentions, it is easy to slump into poor posture.  Often the first indication that we have been working in a poor position is pain - by then it's too late!  Set your computer or mobile phone to 'beep' or alarm in some way, reset each hour and use this to check your posture.  Are your feet flat on the floor, wrists neutral, shoulders back?  Make sure your chin is not poking forward and that your mouse hasn't migrated too far from your keyboard (causing you to reach, placing strain on your neck and shoulder).

Thanks to Bernie's skills I have been treated and relieved of muscular spasms and problems with my shoulder, through being on the PC so long at work. And even though I was not convinced it would make a difference, the acupuncture worked a treat too, and was virtually painless. She has also given me stretches and advice about posture that has helped me avoid problems recurring more often. I now only come for an MOT whenever I have lapsed from being good! What a pleasure it is to have someone as cheerful and skillful as Bernie help me "bounceback". Thanks! Danny Claridge
