Take a deep breath..... if you find you are about to blow your top (inconsiderate driver in front, boss being unreasonable, just people!), take a deep lungful of breath and as you let it go, say to yourself 'it just doesn't matter'. Sometimes it does matter of course but ask yourself, is getting wound-up helping? Contact us if you are having trouble dealing with stress. As an experienced women's health Physiotherapist I often feel saddened and frustrated when I hear how long women have suffered in silence before seeking help for bladder problems. We should be taking about it more. Have a listen. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b014gdqs#p00kgmw8 Chronic Pelvic Pain 08/08/2011
Many women suffer with chronic pelvic pain and things get more complicated as time goes on. A well trained women's health physiotherapist may be able to help a great deal. Contact us for help and book in for an assessment with Bernie Gilder Snow! Love it or hate it? 22/12/2010
Please all be careful in this icy weather! Ensure adequate footware and above all, take your time - rushing creates a real risk of falling. Taking firm short steps and being mindful of your surroundings will help to keep you safer. We need a new Physio! 07/10/2010
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Physiotherapist to work 1-2 nights and Saturday mornings. You will find the application pack on our home page. Bounce Back at Chingford Rugby Club BBQ 02/09/2010
Bernie will be available before the big game (on Saturday 4th) to answer questions about any concerns or injuries you may have. If you are a Chingford Rugby Club member, come down and say hello! Football and Rugby are coming! 23/08/2010
Don't start the season with any niggles. Get that dodgy ankle or knee checked out so you can know how to rehabilitate it. Wouldn't it be great to throw yourself into the game without any worries? Remember to say sorry to your body 03/08/2010
Perhaps with the good weather you will be doing activities you haven't done since last summer. Enthusiasm can get the better of us as we throw ourselves into a seldom practiced activity with gusto! Perhaps it's not until the next morning that we find ourselves in a pickle - aching back from paddling the canoe, sore shoulder from playing tennis, creaky knees from climbing ...... How many of us remember to gently stretch our bodies and drink extra water to say 'sorry body' for working it so hard for the first time in ages?! Stuck at a desk all day? 05/07/2010
Remember to check your posture a little and often when at your desk. Despite best intentions, it is easy to slump into poor posture. Often the first indication that we have been working in a poor position is pain - by then it's too late! Set your computer or mobile phone to 'beep' or alarm in some way, reset each hour and use this to check your posture. Are your feet flat on the floor, wrists neutral, shoulders back? Make sure your chin is not poking forward and that your mouse hasn't migrated too far from your keyboard (causing you to reach, placing strain on your neck and shoulder). | AuthorBernie Gilder has been a Physio for 13 years and she still loves her job!
